Printable Ephemera
Card Making can be an expensive hobby if you buy all the so called "must have's".
When you're a beginner or don't have the space to store lots of "stuff" simple card making is the way to go.
Just using paper, glue and scissors can produce wonderful cards. Add a ruler and pencil....and you are ready to go!
Using printable products is a great way to save money as they are cheaper as you are printing at home.
It's also quick and easy card making as there's no stamping or colouring involved!
Printable ephemera is a fantastic way to create beautiful cards!
They come is all shapes, sizes and colours to decorate and embellish your handmade cards.
One large element can used as a focal point or you can group several together for a different effect.
Tips for Printable Ephemera
- Use the heavy weight paper or card as this makes your ephemera more durable. It may take time experimenting with different types of paper/card as every printer is different.
- Use a sharp pair of paper scissors to cut around your ephemera. Keep a pair of scissors especially for this task. I use Cutter Bee scissors and never let them near anything sticky.
- Always remember when cutting to turn your paper not your scissors.
- Decorate your envelopes and the inside of your cards with ephemera to add your own personal touch.
- Make your printables into stickers by printing onto sticker paper. I buy this is small amounts as if left unused the sticker paper can turn an off white colour.
- Look for other uses for your left over ephemera such a scrapbook pages or junk journals.
